Principal's Message

I am pleased and honored to welcome you to another fantastic school year here at John I. Smith K-8 Center. As we travel together during the 2020-2021 school year, I want to take this opportunity to share my personal thoughts and aspirations with you.

Here at JIS, our foremost goal is to assist every single student and family with academic achievement. Our teachers are the best the county has to offer and will strive every day to help all students reach their greatest potential. The end result being responsible, self-assured students capable of succeeding at any challenge that may come their way.

Everyone here on staff works diligently to create a warm and inviting atmosphere for everyone that passes through the school doors. Students and parents alike will be greeted with a smile to ensure a positive environment. This atmosphere is only strengthened through strong partnerships with parents and community stakeholders. I welcome you all to register as a volunteer to be a room parent, cafeteria monitor or help the PTA and commit time and energy to creating a school that nurtures young minds and instills pride in our local community.
